Dynamic power-based temporary frequency support scheme for a wind farm

چکیده

Doubly fed induction generators can participate in frequency support following a disturbance by releasing their rotational energies. However, when regaining the rotor speed, secondary dip (SFD) tends to produce sudden output drop. This study suggests dynamic power-based stepwise inertial control (IC) scheme of wind power plant for minimizing SFD while reducing maximum deviation (MFD), considering non-negligible wake. To this end, reference increases torque limit. Afterward, smoothly decays with dynamically decreasing incremental and then automatically switches point tracking operation. The performance temporary suggested IC strategy is investigated various penetration levels power. Test results demonstrate that minimize reduce mechanical stresses on turbine during recovery speed MFD. Therefore, secures stability an electric system dominated generations.
